Older guy dating younger guy
I’ll be 42 in a couple of weeks, and in two years of online dating, I’d say about 70% of the people who write to me are fifty and over, often MUCH over.
The richer the older guy, the more vulnerable is the younger guy to replacement. The older guy, being of an age where his youthful looks have faded (if he ever had them in the first place) and is therefore no longer sellable, has few alternatives – he will take just about any young guy emotionally stable enough to hold a conversation and at least slightly-below-average looks. The young guy, emotionally exhausted after suffering umpteen failed relationship-attempts with deadbeat guys who can’t commit to brushing their teeth every morning, much less stay monogamous for longer than 48 hours, is quite relieved to find a stable, older man who is not only willing to be faithful but practically worships him.By the time you have your first child, you’ll be 38 or 39. That’s not the kind of life you imagined for yourself or your children. Let’s just hope that they don’t discriminate against men their own age. This is so true, and it doesn’t stop in the 30s, either. The older guy may be completely un-presentable to the younger guy’s parents.
And supposing the relationship lasts, what is the younger guy left with when he’s barely 50 years old, with potentially many years left to go, and the older guy is dead? You only live once, so date a hot, young guy your own age before you turn into papa.
How does a 56 year old man find a good younger woman that would be interested in marriage and willing to have children by him? Most good sites line me up with the 50 year olds and most 36 year olds tend to think I’m a dirty old man.
I know that such a person exists but can’t find a good avenue to find her. Thank you, Dale, for acknowledging a few very common truths from the world of online dating.
[CORRECTION: his pension, perhaps] And when the whole house of cards falls apart (and I’m willing to bet that it will), both parties are going to be angry homosexuals. But let’s face it – there *are* good guys out there your own age.
The older guy will feel abandoned and mistreated, and the younger guy will wonder why he wasted months or even years of his youth dating papa. The solution, of course, is age-appropriate dating.
Whatever part of the conventional wisdom they buy into, American women find it easy to summarily reject younger men. They could be denying themselves the most wonderful relationship of their lives.
